The Missouri Division Speakers Bureau (MDSB) is designed to provide Missouri Division IAAP Chapters with an economical resource for speakers who give educational presentations on a wide range of subjects for chapters' monthly programs. It also provides a venue for chapter members to hone their presentation skills while serving the association. The host chapter and Missouri Division will equally share the presenter's expenses (transportation and hotel expenses, if applicable).
Inviting a Speaker
You can visit the Missouri Division website 'Resource Library' for a listing of speakers and their topics or request the list from the MDSB chair. Once you have selected an appropriate topic for your meeting, contact the MDSB chair. She will contact the speaker for you and provide you with an official Request Form. If you have already contacted a speaker, you will still need to complete and submit a Request Form. In order to be eligible for reimbursement of 50% of the speaker's expenses, the host chapter must schedule the speaker through the Speakers Bureau.
Processing Your Request
After scheduling the speaker, the MDSB will confirm the engagement with the host chapter and send a Procedures/Reimbursement Form. The appropriate section of the form will need to be completed and the form forwarded to the speaker.
After making the presentation, the speaker will complete their section of the Reimbursement Form with actual expenses incurred, attach any receipts, and return the form to the Host Chapter. The Host Chapter will then verify the submitted expenses, reimburse the speaker in full, and submit all paperwork to the Division President for approval.
If you are wanting to provide recertification points for the presentation, you will need to contact certification@iaap-hq.org to see if the program qualifies. Recertification points must be requested and qualification verified each time a program is scheduled to be presented.
